Let me take a moment to explain:

❤️ What is Crochet?

Crochet is a craft that uses a hook to transform yarn into fabric. Crochet is incredibly versatile, from blankets and scarves to hats, bags, and even toys, the possibilities are endless.

As you begin a crochet project, you'll typically start with a foundation, this could be a row of chains or a magic circle. From there, you'll master different stitches like single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, and more, each stitch building upon the last.

🧡 What is Mindfulness?

In its simplest form Mindfulness is about being fully present in the moment. It's the practice of focusing on what you're doing right now without worrying about the future or ruminating on the past.

It’s about letting go of present distractions and becoming deeply involved in the activity at hand.

💛 Why Link Crochet and Mindfulness?

Crochet and mindfulness go hand in hand. The act of looping yarn and drawing it through with your hook creates a calming rhythm. It’s easy to slip into a peaceful "flow" state, where your mind quiets and your body feels more relaxed.

This rhythmic repetitive process gives you a chance to tune out the noise of everyday life and be completely in the present moment.

In our fast-paced, loud, hectic overstimulating world, mindfulness through crochet offers a much-needed break from reality.

Small victories and achievements can sometimes go unnoticed, this is why I have included a journal in the "Mindful Moments Crochet Bundle", where you can document your learning journey and feelings and begin to feel proud of yourself.

When we achieve something our happy hormones are released, so when we crochet and we do this mindfully imagine how happy we could be.

The journal is designed to capture not just your learning experience but your thoughts, inspirations, emotions and what makes you - you.

We begin with pages dedicated to your crochet journey, if you struggle to write about your feelings I have provided dandelions with pre written emotions which can be circled closest to how you feel.

There is also space for you to write about things that you would change in your next session as it's important to always aim to improve our experience.

There are pages dedicated to mindfulness, grounding and you.

Offering all of the necessary tools and materials makes it easier for you to embark on your journey without any confusion about what you need, the pattern book explains in detail what each tool is for and how to use it.

Your Mindful Crochet bundle includes the following:

Waterproof project bag: I handmake a waterproof project bag for your items, we will discuss the fabric choices together (examples)
Pattern: The pattern book is written in US terms with a UK chart for comparison, I have left and right handed versions available for the same price
Hooks: Ergonomic hooks, rainbow or plain (or you may choose 1 bespoke handmade hook)
Yarn: Enough to make a lap blanket. You may choose 3 separate colours, 2 of the same and 1 different, 3 of the same, all different, the choice is entirely yours. The yarn is sourced locally Pretty Knits Wool Shop Darlington we use DK yarn.
Scissors: Essential for snipping the ends of your thread, Darning Needles essential for weaving in the ends, Stitch markers for your corners and a tape measure
Yarn bowl: As you work on your crochet project, the yarn bowl serves as a focal point, inviting you to embrace the present moment. After turning your yarn into a ball, you may find that the act of gently pulling yarn from the bowl becomes a meditative exercise in itself. The yarn bowl is a 3d printed cat, if you would like to swap this for another in my shop please let me know, there will be an additional charge for this.
Fidget aid: Fidget aids are an unconventional addition to crochet bundles but I am nothing if not unconventional! You may find that when learning this new skill you become frustrated, that’s OK, their inclusion in my bundle allows you to stop and take a moment, squeeze your frustration into them and then go back to what you were doing, enriching the crafting experience by promoting relaxation and mental clarity.
Posture cushion: The posture cushion has two uses, the first is that it allows the crocheter to find a comfortable position, the second reason is that it feels like a cuddle. For those who struggle with physical contact or who crave it, this pillow is perfect, it provides a weighted comfort and can be moulded to most body shapes.
Journey Journal: The crochet journal is designed to capture not just your learning experience but your thoughts, inspirations, emotions and what makes you - you. The Journey Journal will become a testament to your personal growth, your mindfulness, and your new skill As described earlier the first part of the journal allows you to document your crochet journey, the next part of the journal will contain very gentle activities aimed at finding out a little bit more about you.

Please note that the bundle will take a little longer than 7 days for you to receive as I have to order the fabric and yarn etc and then make the bag which takes time, if however you would like a tote bag which has been pre-made by a business friend you are more than welcome to specify this when we talk. I have many of her amazing totes in stock.
